Common Course Numbering
Common Course Numbering (CCN)
Beginning Fall 2025, California Community Colleges are required to assign the same course name and number to comparable courses across all California Community Colleges. The Common Course Numbering (CCN) system will support student transfer between institutions and help reduce the chance that students take courses they don't need. The CCN system will establish a structure that strengthens equitable transfer and student success.
