Prepares students for employment in the travel and hospitality industry, bilingual customer service, tutoring, international business support or international relations. Emphasizes the development of interpersonal communication, reading and writing using Japanese symbols, as well as an understanding of Japanese culture and society at the Intermediate-Mid level proficiency, based on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Guidelines.  Develops linguistic accuracy, intercultural awareness, and effective communication strategies essential for success in multilingual environments and international contexts.  Students who successfully complete this program are prepared for entry-level employment or internship opportunities requiring Intermediate-Mid Japanese language skills in local and international contexts.
