Prepares students for different aspects of the Airborne Public Safety Association (APSA)'s Basic Proficiency Evaluation for Remote Pilots (BPERP) certification exam. Emphasizes safety, capabilities, and operation competency in order to prepare students to attain the industry-recognized BPERP certification. AERO 106
ADVANCED AND CONFINED FLIGHT TRAINING FOR REMOTE PILOTS

Recommended Concurrent Enrollment: AERO 108, FTMA 108, ART 188, NC 328 or equivalent.
Prerequisite: AERO 105 or equivalent.

Provides hands-on drone flight training based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) curriculum for drones. Includes a review of NIST Levels 1-3 Open Lanes and scorable Scenarios as well as emphasis on Level 4 Obstruct Lanes and Level 5 Confined Lanes. [D; CSU]
AERO 107
REMOTE PILOT GROUND SCHOOL

Equips students with knowledge about the regulations and procedures governing the safe and legal operation of small remotely operated aircraft systems (sUAS), commonly referred to as "drones." Coincides with the knowledge areas in the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) Part 107 knowledge test for a Remote Pilot Certificate with a sUAS rating, and is intended to prepare students for the FAA written examination required for students to become commercial sUAS pilots. AERO 108
INTRODUCTION TO DRONE TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATIONS
